About Us
While we are based in the United States, some of our staff members have lived abroad in both Africa and Asia, and have traveled in France, the Philippines, Honduras, Korea, and India. While most of our customers are Americans, we receive questions worldwide. As mentioned before, our advisors range in age from 16 to 76 years of age. Our ethnicity includes Anglo-Saxon, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, and in-between.
Uncle Spencer – President and founder of Askunclespencer.com. Born in 1959; B.A. in English & M.B.A; vice-president of a construction company. Former coach of youth league sports, including soccer and baseball. Former college lacrosse player. Hobbies and interests include running, hiking, history, reading, politics, movies and church.
Eric – Staff member. Born in 1931; B.S. Math; Masters in Math; Retired teacher and coach of high school athletics including football, wrestling, lacrosse, basketball, and baseball. In the classroom, Eric taught math and computer science. In his early days before teaching, Eric was an athletic trainer for the NBA and worked with basketball greats such as Wilt Chamberlain. He has mentored countless young people during his lifetime and continues to do so today. Hobbies and interests include reading, church, and sports of all kinds.
Ruth – Staff member. Born in 1963; H.S. Diploma; Former day-care provider, secretary and current waitress and bartender. Spent most of the last 20 years raising her kids and providing daycare to those in the neighborhood. Interests and hobbies include reading, going out with friends, shopping, gardening and cooking.
Dietrich – Staff member. Born in 1985; H.S. Diploma; Current college student and basketball player. Working toward a dual major in Biblical Studies and Business. Has served as a missionary in Africa. Currently employed by a golf course for the summer. Interests and hobbies include golf, basketball, and church.
Morgan – Staff member. Born in 1988; H.S. Diploma; Current college student pursuing an economics degree, he has traveled in Europe and Mexico. Working for a tent installer this summer. Interests and hobbies include running, lifting, reading, video games and fantasy sports teams.
Helen – Staff member. Born in 1931; B.A. Elementary Education; Retired teacher of 1st and 2nd graders for over 30 years. Grew up on a farm. Interests and hobbies include reading, television, and volunteer church work.
Victoria – Staff advisor. Born in 1990; Middle School Diploma; Victoria helps advise our staff with questions that come from or are about kids her age and younger. While she doesn’t answer questions directly, her input is invaluable as she knows first hand the challenges of school and growing up. Interests and hobbies include reading, television, music and sports.
